When we finally slow down

There’s a reason we keep returning to stillness. Not because it’s always easy—but because at some point, we remember we can’t live without it.

For me, that remembering didn’t come in a single moment. It came in waves. After years of living in constant motion, I didn’t know how to stop. I was chasing the next thing—more validation, more success, more belonging. My work became my everything. It was the perfect distraction from everything I wasn’t ready to feel.

Why?

Because pausing meant the noise would catch up with me. And beneath that noise was extreme anxiety, discomfort, and fear. I’d spent years in motion because stopping meant feeling—and I didn’t think I’d survive it. I wasn’t sure how to come back to my body, to my self, to feel the lifetime of unprocessed emotion and trauma I was carrying; and yet—I knew I had to.

There were days I didn’t think I’d make it to the other side.

But somewhere in the depth of that pain, something resilient stirred:

The soul-led warrior—undaunted and devoted.
The rebel within.
The wild, free woman I had long silenced.
The lover of life I had forgotten.
The curious child I was always meant to protect.

They gave me the courage to keep going.
To keep returning.
To breathe.
To feel.
To trust that I didn’t have to hold it all alone.

And I didn’t.
Because over time, I discovered practices.
I connected with people.
I was guided to the tools that reminded me how to come back—again and again.

That’s why Wild Minnow exists.
It’s not just about teaching stillness.
It’s about honoring the return.
It’s about creating space—real, accessible space—to begin again, no matter how many times we’ve left ourselves behind.

Through breath, movement, ritual, and reflection, we offer ways to soften the noise and reweave connection—not just to the self, but to something greater. And that includes each other.

"When the soul is ready, everything else will begin to move." — John O’Donohue

The process of returning to ourselves also gently nudges us back into right relationship—with others, with the natural world, and with the sacred rhythms of life… in reciprocity.

But more on that next time.
